Adoption Guidelines
- The minimum cost for adopting a dog is $150.00. This fee is
based on the actual adopting agency policies and in most cases covers the cost
of vaccines and spay/neutering.
- Some dogs may require a home visit from Shelter Personnel.
- A fenced yard is a must. Most of these dogs have been
rescued from unsafe conditions and must go to home that provides a safe and
loving environment.
- All other pets in the home must be current on vaccines, be
on heartworm preventative and altered.
- Ideally all dogs must be able to live in the home with the
family. Again, these are rescue and dogs and they will need loving homes where
they are part of the family.
- Adopting families will have to be patience when bringing
their dog home. A new environment will be unsettling at first and you must be
able to give the dog time to adapt to the changes.
- If you are a renter you must have written consent from your
landlord to be able to have a pet living at the home.
- Prior to adoption we will have a meet and greet with your
current dog/s to determine if it is a good match. We do not want any dogs going
to a home where they will be returned due to lack of compatibility. These dogs
have lived in many places and come from unknown circumstances and need forever
homes. We will not place our dogs in any home where there are aggressive pets.
- There may be other conditions that apply based on each individual
dog.
